Mathworks acquired and developed a unified campus plan with new buildings, parking garages, and a distinctive campus common.
The campus includes pedestrian open spaces, outdoor classrooms, and dining plazas. Buffers were created to mitigate the vertical structures from the neighbors. The façade of the parking garage is comprised of a green screen trellis system planted with clematis to shield the cars from the pedestrians and drivers entering the campus.
Many of the plantings for the buffering were harvested from the existing site. In addition, much of the existing campus lawns were converted to field grasses and wildflowers.
