Copley Wolff Design Group developed a master plan for the expansion of the existing Cal-a-Vie Health Spa in Vista, California. CWDG is collaborating with the architectural firm of Tsoi/Kobus & Associates, an award-winning designer of medical facilities.

Cal-a-Vie, known as -the ultimate spa," is located on 140 acres of rolling southern California hills in Northern San Diego County. Design efforts focused on the expansion of the existing 24-unit spa, which has been classified as one of the best in the world. The master plan expansion includes the addition of 76 residential units with supporting spas, along with sports, dining, and medical facilities. Designers will use natural building materials throughout the site, such as stone walls, hardwood floors, and non-toxic paints and interior finishes.

The design intent of the master plan is to set these facilities in the natural surroundings of a working herbal farm. As such, the master plan includes acres of lavender connected by pedestrian pathways and irrigation waterways.
