Working with the Town of Arlington in collaboration with Fay, Spofford &
Thorndike, Inc. the Copley Wolff Design Group team developed a landscape palette
for street improvements to the townęs main residential thoroughfare.
The process of street widening required the careful tabulation of all existing trees and adjacent shrubs and hedges. In the process some trees were slated for removal, others to be saved and protected. All trees removed were replaced with new plantings.
During the design phase, extensive public meetings were held. Each homeowner
was made part of the decision making process and careful attention was given
to the locations of all trees. In the end the Town of Arlington received an
improved transportation corridor, and the abutting homeowners benefited from
a beautiful residential streetscape.
