Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts
Client: Skanska

Copley Wolff Design Group designed the entry courtyard plaza for a new lab building built in the heart of Cambridge’s high-tech district.

As part of the building's goal to obtain LEED Platinum Certification, and to mirror the modern application and sophisticated clientele of the building, CWDG’s design includes sustainable IPE benches and drought-tolerant plantings; rain gardens collect storm water runoff and provide a naturalistic setting; and the street furniture and design has a Scandinavian flair as a nod to the developer’s heritage.

CWDG also provided streetscape treatments for the building’s perimeter. Native plantings and hearty Honey Locust and Red Maple trees beautify adjacent sidewalks and provide a lush color during the spring, summer, and fall months.
